Federal law requires all first

responder agency employers

appoint a Designated Infection

Control Officer to manage and

coordinate the response to

occupational employee exposures to

infectious substances. This course

provides a basic understanding of

infection control, infectious

materials/diseases, Federal, State,

and Local regulations and standards

pertaining to infection control. The

course further provides an

understanding of organizational

obligations related to mandatory

notification(s), immunizations,

required actions, and

documentation. The course

provides practical application of a

DICO.

Up to 24 hours of CE Hours will be

provided to students for the

completion of this course.
